The Party isn't Until mid-October

"You arrived early, but since we're good friends and all, you can just hang around until the party starts."
("...too bad you brought Wind and Rain along, they weren't invited for a reason.")

Maybe it's the fact I get to wrap a scarf around my head when I forget a knit hat, maybe it's the burning wood smell from neighbors' chimneys, or maybe it's all the leaves, feathers, and mushrooms on the ground...but welcome to my favorite time of year...scary to think of the season that follows this time of beautiful color, but right now we will live in the moment with jackets zipped and mittens in reserve.

Fungi is my new Inspiration

Nothing says pattern like fungi growing on a decomposing log. We walked a "trail" that was blacktopped over boulders and as uneven as can be. I had a full thought that I would run this mile long stretch...I easily would have twisted my knee, or stumbeled and ended up in the lake if I had actually attempted it...
