We went to Black River Harbor yesterday and stopped at the Gorge falls and Potowatomi falls on the way. Another fall tree filled day. Dad found the Black River Harbor with its park and picnic area a great find at the end of this long road. The Harbor is right off of Lake Superior and there is a walking suspension bridge that spans the river. Pretty impressive.
Bacon Bits and his Momma have visited this park a handful of times with Mike, so Bacon confidently led the way for Grandpa and pointed out all the neat finds.
The falls are brief stops located on the way and have short paths that lead right up to wonderful viewing points of the powerful water. There's nothing like seeing falls, hearing the roar of the water, and feeling the spray on your face. All this within a half an hour from home.
Pasties for dinner from Northwoods General Store, where you always leave smelling like homemade candles; and seeing a pair of foxes run into the baseball field to practice their pitching wrapped up the day perfectly.
